PHILOSOPHY
GAME CHANGER
Villard Wines, located in the coastal cool climate region of Casablanca. Tucked away in a beautiful pocket in the northeast corner, Villard boasts a 28 hectare vineyard where the winery and cellar door sit at the top of a north facing slope.
Founded by Thierry Villard in 1989, a Frenchman well submerged in the industry, having lived and worked in Australia for 17 years before migrating to Chile.
Today the winery is operated by Charlie Villard, son of Thierry, whom has been freshening up the Casablanca winemaking scene with wines that are loaded with energy and poise.
Charlie has also been making his own label on the side, JCV wines, since 2017. With a skinzy Pinot Grigio made under the globally known ‘Ramato’ rules, which were established by a group of winemakers in the Friuli region of Italy.
The JCV range has been growing with the addition of other whites and red non-classic varieties common to Casablanca. This is where Charlie gets to be experimental and challenges himself working within the realm of ‘natural’ wines. Watch this space!
