PHILOSOPHY

IN AND OUT OF THE BOX

Vignoble Mingot is a third generation family operated winery, on the right bank of Bordeaux in the area of Savignac-de-l’Isle. This is where their historical Chateau Marechaux property is located 7 kms north of the vineyards in Lalande de Pomerol.

Julien Mingot, son of Michel is in charge of the operation with approximately 21 ha’s of predominantly Merlot planted, including small parcels of the other classic Bordeaux companions with his heart set on the future of what Cabernet Franc can do on the estate.

The Maréchaux grapes are sourced from where the original property is located, having produced since the early days two labels at different levels; Domaine and Château, the latter being of a higher tier.

In 2015 the Mingot's launched an addition to the estates portfolio, Château La Pensée; which represents their Lalande de Pomerol appellation wines, now producing 3 tiers for this Merlot exclusive range. ‘Château La Pensée' being the first wine,' Prémices de la Pensée' the typically Bordelaise concept of a second wine and lastly with an exceptional vintage only cuvée named ‘Arthus’.

In recent years, Julien has also integrated a range of wines with a modern concept named ‘Le Petit Comptoir’; a minimal intervention and as Mingot says ’don’t over think it it, just drink it’ out of character for Bordeaux, packaged Vin de France. This range is comprised of a Vin Blanc, Vin Rosé and Vin Rouge, however soon we will see the addition of a Cabernet Franc cuvée, 100% aged in a ceramic egg shaped vessel named ‘Ceramiq’.

Vignoble Mingot is a producer that delivers superb quality and a great representation of right bank Bordeaux ‘in and out of the box', providing excellent value across the portfolio.
