PHILOSOPHY

KEEN AS MUSTARD

Moorak Wines is the creation of a first-generation winemaker Jordan Hein, named as an ode to his birthplace, the small town of Moorak, in the Mount Gambier region of South Australia. He developed the project with self- study, experimentation, and learning from experience with traditional to left-field winemaking techniques.

Each vintage, Jordan strives for partnerships with sustainable and organic growers, each with a progressive focus on regenerative viticulture. Not limited by single vineyards, Moorak offers a dynamic range of multi-regional wines produced solely in the one facility located in the McLaren Vale. The winery has been equipped with a minimal carbon-impact philosophy, completely off-grid, using solar power, rainwater, and bore water throughout production.

Jordy, as most know him by, is looking to shift expectations with his wines, by seeking ways of challenging himself as a winemaker and sharing that challenge with the consumer.

Moorak wines are smart, honest and pure, expressed with intentional winemaking differences of Jordan's own interpretations on how a particular grape variety can be showcased.
